About us
The company was initially set up in 1982 by TR Murfet & Sons and was primarily a construction company undertaking all works from housing sites to small extensions. In 2004 Murfet Developments Ltd (T/A Murfet Group) was added to the group structure with Wayne Murfet becoming Group Managing Director. The company has expanded to provide a complete building service for luxury residential accommodation for sale and rent and a fully managed construction services to Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties. The group now turns over £3Million a year and is projected at £5Million for 2010 and £10 Million within the next 2/3 years.
The Directors and Management Team of Murfet Group are driven by a fundamental belief that certain approaches and working methods will progress to inspire and enable, partners, clients, subcontractors, and employees to better promote risk reduction in health & safety, better working practices through team work and communication to allow a modern and good working environment for all parties in archiving the end goal for clients and end users.
There is considerable wealth of experience within the company’s directors, its employees and informal partnering agreements with its specialist subcontractors, to provide a rich setting for identifying areas where innovation can aid in the construction, design and working techniques before, during and after construction. We take responsibility in also making informed decisions and providing impartial advice on the difficult decision between using innovative designs of modern methods of construction to the ever present question of affordability.
As the needs of the clients and end user often adapt, the company aims to respond to ensure these needs are met. The decision making structure within the company allows it to react quickly and adapt its work plan and set of activities when required. The company’s policies are to encourage, not prevent changes or amendments.
It is company policy to have all staff as qualified First Aiders and have relevant CSCS cards. All subcontractors used by Murfet Group are required to complete a detailed questionnaire. This can be view by clicking here.
The Group is compliant with Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS). CHAS is established as the market leader for health and safety pre-qualification in the UK. It is a non-commercial scheme available to contractors that enables them to meet the high public and private sector organisation’s Health & Safety standards. Bob Maxwell Consulting oversees all works undertaken on site as independent assessors and to ensure we remain fully compliant with Health & Safety regulations.
